
Georja Skinner is a Hollywood native who has called Hawaii home since 1980. An Emmy nominee, Skinner was the first female sound mixer in network television on shows such as All In the Family, The Jeffersons and Hallmark Hall of Fame specials.
In 1983 she established Skinner Communications, Maui’s first public
relations firm, which was acquired by WPP Group’s Hill and Knowlton
Communications Pacific in 1990. In January 1994, Mayor Lingle appointed her
as Maui's first film commissioner where she helped attract film, television
and commercial production to island.
In 1999 Skinner launched Hawaii’s first film school program in association
with USC School of Cinema-Television. She is currently a creative producer
with the Puppet Studio of North Hollywood, California and has several projects
in development.
